Most important in the context of educational home stay although the way they are operationalized reflected the distinctive characteristics of the service setting. The findings are of direct relevance to a service centred approach to marketing in which relationships. The process for students begins in their home country, usually by referral from an education agent. It is also becoming increasingly common for students to request a home stay as compared to hostels. Communication between the home stay provider and the student is perceived as one of the most important aspects of the home stay experience. The major concern expressed by accommodation providers was communication difficulties because of lan guage barriers between the students and the hosts. The focus group was conducted to gain information into the issues which are concerned about the accommodation services. The researcher is doing the survey to improve the quality and the standard of the international students accommodation services by conducting the literature review section which is to study in more detail regarding this topic issues. The researcher conducting the questioning section it is because by using the questioning section is much more efficient but there are a weakness on the questioning section regarding the quality and quantity of the information are depends on the respondents ability and the willingness to participate the questioning survey (Copper,Donald R. and Schindler,Pamela S., 1998). Those information have been collected can be carried out the trusted outcome in the end of the research. In the other hand, the questionnaire that conducted by the researcher are more concern about the students accommodation accessibility, accommodation facilities and the guardianship of the students. The purposes of the questions which are conducted by the researcher in term of the accessibility to measure how good and important are the accommodation location according to those students who are staying in the hostel. In term of accommodations facilities, the purpose of the researcher is focus on this area is to measure how good the quality of the facilities of the accommodation is. To gain the feedback from the respondents so that the agents could able provide a better facilities and to improve the usability of the facilities that the agent should provide for the students. To satisfy the students individual needs and make the students feel more comfortable of the accommodations facilities that have provided. In term of the guardianship, the purpose of the researcher finding is to investigate how well is the guardian attitude while they are responsible on taking care of those students who are staying on the accommodations. The researcher conduct the questions focus on the communication between the students and the guardian, how well the guardian concern and monitoring their students personal well being and their academic progress and able to clarify any doubt that the students facing on. After all the questionnaire survey has been done by the researcher, the researcher has conducted the rating scale to evaluate the outcome of the survey so that the researcher could able to measure the quality and standard of the services in furthermore. Moreover, through this research paper the researcher could able to give a recommendation to improve the level of the satisfaction of the students regarding to the homes stay quality and makes the accommodation more comfortable for those who are staying. Data Analysis Based on the research survey, numbers of volunteer totally 20 people. Among the 20 people 8 of them are male and the rest 12 of the people are female. The level of accommodation comforts to those international students is basically involved how accessible is the place and as well as security level. Accessible level of the accommodation is often considered by those students when they are finding the accommodation which is involved them convenient on their transportation, easy for getting daily stuff, and easy access facility around the area. Conclusion and Recommendations As a conclusion of this research report, the standard and the quality of accommodation services that provided by the agents are often unreliable. Nowadays, the agents tend to lower the quality and standard of the home stay and thus provide a low quality home stay service without much consideration towards international students. The outcome of the researchers finding based on the students age, shows that 90 % of the students who are staying in hostel are in between 15 25 years old. These students who reside in hostel would much prefer home stay accommodation as compared to staying in a hostel, as they feel that home stay provides a more comfortable atmosphere for them and they are willing to forgo convenience in terms of accessibility of location, just for comforts sake. To provide the comfortable accommodation for students, the provider has to consider the four main points which contributes directly to the comfort level in order to fulfil the students individual needs. The accessibility level of the accommodation is also considered important to the students but as mentioned, comfort is more important. Moreover, the level of the guardianship in form of the guardians responsibility on monitoring, encourage, concern about their students needs and communicate well to understand those students needs is to improve their quality on providing the services and the standard of accommodation living.

Atwood’s short story “Bluebeard’s Egg” Essay

Atwood’s Bluebeard’s Egg is a narrative that supports the theme of perception being a human characteristic which only presents the truth the particular person wants to believe. The first evidence of this appears in Sally’s description of Edward, her husband, who by her thoughts is a â€Å"dumb blond† that need her protection and intelligence to survive. â€Å"At set intervals an angel appears, bringing him food. That’s fine with Ed who hardly notices what he eats, but the angel is getting tired of being an angel† (168, prgh1) We get this image of the â€Å"caring wife† protecting a not-so-intelligent husband out of love and pity. This is Sally’s perception of the truth. On the other hand we see her immaturity in her diction (â€Å"heart-men† â€Å"fix their hearts†, â€Å"looked like a giant-fig†) which shows her ignorance of her husband’s line of work which is substantially difficult and requires intelligence and dedication that few people possess. This is why the readers start to doubt Sally’s truth and at this point we side with the other â€Å"some† who say that he is â€Å"intelligent and even brilliant, otherwise how can he be so successful†? (151, last pgh) This first conflict that takes place in the readers themselves furthers the theme of the story. Who can we trust and why? Sally’s perception is the lense that we see the story through, but without it we wouldn’t have a vision at all. So we have to take her reality and decide which truth we want to believe. Ed’s truth of a middle-age well-off physician with a beautiful, young wife who â€Å"doesn’t care much for anything† except the nice routine of his life. Or Marylynn’s perception of a liberal, independent and confident woman who doesn’t need a husband to enjoy her life. Or finally Sally’s desperate attempt to hold on to her perfect life – married to a wealthy handsome but not-so-smart husband who provides a normal â€Å"happy† life for her. The point in the story where Sally catches her husband and her best friend crossing that line of appropriateness, is when she realizes that her perception of what was real was actually all wrong from the begging. This sudden crack in her â€Å"perfect† life threatens the very foundations of an her seemingly stable universe. â€Å"Sally has been wrong about Ed, for years, forever.† (182) This is a crucial moment in the story as it shows Sally’s epiphany and provides a mysterious moment as to what she was going to do –  face her husband and her best friend, or try to ignore it in order to save her marriage, her security blanket. â€Å"Sally puts down the spatula, wipes her hand on the hand-towel, puts her arms around him, holds on tighter that she should.† (183, 3rd prgh) This is the image we get – of Sally trying to hold on to her illusory reality. In a way the egg in the story is the truth that humans seek but the truth is covered by the hard protective shell and only people who go beyond the surface and look for change can get to the core – to the truth which provides liberation. The structure of the story with the old â€Å"Bluebeard† tale in the middle of this new story reminds me of the egg which was once created and now has a life inside itself and will create in its turn. â€Å"Sally thinks the egg is alive, and one day it will hatch. But what will come out of it?† (184, 1st prgh) This relates to Atwood’s contemplating of the â€Å"creative process†. Like in other poems by her, we see the birth of new concepts from the roots of our very own creation. This also compares to the ways in which our engagement with a text, the act of reading literature, corresponds to â€Å"reading† reality. Atwood’s story suggests that in both instances, â€Å"guesswork† or â€Å"intuition† is as fundamental as close analysis. But whether our interpretation of the story is intuitive or analytical, the outcome is an unending quest after an illusory truth because nothing is what it seems.

How Do I Know If a Sociology Major Is Right For Me

My first semester of college was an academic drag. I arrived on the sun-drenched campus of Pomona College full of eager anticipation for the start of classes. It was a massive let down when I found myself mostly disinterested in the subject matter of the first few I enrolled in. I had loved literature classes in high school and imagined that an English major would be right for me. But in those courses I found myself frustrated by the in-depth, focused analysis of the texts at the expense of any other considerations, like the process of creating them, what social and cultural factors might have influenced the author’s perspective, or what the texts said about the author or the world at the  time they were written. Simply to fulfill a requirement, I enrolled in Introduction to Sociology for the spring semester. After the first class, I was hooked and knew that it would be my major. I never took another English class, nor another that was dissatisfying. Part of what was so intriguing to me about sociology was that it taught me to see the world in an entirely new way.  I grew up as a white, middle-class kid in one of the whitest and least racially diverse states in the nation: New Hampshire. I was raised by married heterosexual parents. Though I always had a fire inside me about injustice, I never thought about the big picture of social problems like inequalities of race and wealth, nor of gender or sexuality. I had a very curious mind but had led a very sheltered life. Introduction to Sociology shifted my worldview in a major way because it taught me how to use the sociological imagination to make connections between seemingly isolated incidents and large-scale trends and social problems. It also taught me how to see the connection between history, the present, and my own life. In the course, I developed a sociological perspective, and through it, began to see the connections between how society is organized and my own experiences within it. Once I understood how to think like a sociologist, I realized that I could study anything from a sociological standpoint. After taking courses on how to conduct sociological research, I was empowered by the knowledge that I could develop the skills to study and understand social problems, and even be informed enough about them to make recommendations for how to address them.
